About Julia Cuttone

Through journalism I can use my writing to advocate for the voiceless, through sharing other’s obstacles, successes and life lessons with the world. By raising awareness of what they experienced, I have the power in my hands to make the world a better place, by ensuring them with a right to know the truth. Throughout my journalism career in high school I held positions as sports editor and editor in chief where I would help use my team leadership skills with helping develop the newspaper. I won various awards at different high school award ceremonies, including best photography and a two-time best freelance winner. Outside of high school, I was selected to be an intern at the Herald for the New York Press Association Summer Internship where I held multiple front-page cover stories. This past winter I was selected to be an Axcess softball intern, where I got the chance to run social media, and interview Olympic softball player Monica Abbott, and also develop stories about softball players around the world. Throughout my first year at Baruch College, I joined the magazine staff and developed stories based out of New York City.
