About Julia Das

As an Ontario Catholic Teacher, I am committed to the betterment of the mental, spiritual, academic, and physical health of our students. With my undergraduate degree in Catholic Studies and Disability Studies, I bring a holistic approach to teaching students with diverse needs. My Bachelor of Education program provided me with the opportunity to connect theory and practice while learning how to support students in our Catholic elementary schools. I am qualified for Junior/ Intermediate grades, with Religious Education in Catholic Schools as my teaching subject. During my B.Ed. I also took focused courses in the STEAM discipline, demonstrating my commitment to supporting student success in mathematics. I became an Ontario Certified Teacher in June of 2021, and since my certification, have completed AQ courses in the following areas- Special Education Part 1 - Primary/ Junior Mathematics Part 1 - Mathematics for Grades 7 & 8 - Teaching Students with Behaviour Needs - Teaching Students with Learning Disabilities - Religious Education in Catholic Schools Part 1 (Equivalency)- Religious Education in Catholic Schools Part 2 (Equivalency) As I move forward into my teaching career, my vocation is leading me into becoming a Special Education Resource Teacher. I want to be able to work 1:1 and in small groups with students who need additional support to meet their needs inside and outside of our classrooms. I plan to continue my professional development in the area of special education and am working towards a Post-Graduate Certificate in Special Education from Queen's University.
