About Julia Daun

Wellness advocate, world traveler, and visionary; my passion is to promote health and wellness for both chronic and healthy populations. Collectively, I have over ten years of teaching and leadership experience, as well as over six years specializing in exercise for cancer survivorship. Having traveled to all seven continents and over forty countries, I have established an understanding and appreciation of various cultures. With my international collaborations and research experiences combined, I have developed a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of various cultures and as such, have cultivated a multi-modal approach to health promotion that addresses equity, diversity, and inclusion. I am currently a PhD Candidate and CSEP-Clinical Exercise Physiologist in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. My research is looking at the role of exercise for head and neck cancer surgical patients and neuro-oncology patients. I am committed to promoting patient-oriented research practices and moving evidence into practice. I am unwavering in my mission to enhance the quality of care for individuals living with and beyond cancer.
