About Julia Dicker

My experience as a laboratory operations manager, distress line operator, and in roles supporting children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities has shaped me into a critical thinker capable of quickly building trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds. For the past three years, I have developed test administration, data analysis, data collection, data management, and writing skills (including manuscripts and REB applications) working as a research assistant/lab manager at Brock University. In this role, I applied my knowledge of psychometric tests and statistics through various responsibilities, including administering and scoring cognitive tests (e.g, Digit Span, Stroop, Dimensional Card Sort Task), adjusting study procedures based on observations during testing, and writing testing manuals, data input and coding guides, and research grant proposals—one of which earned a award from Brock University’s Office of Research Services. In my roles supporting children, adolescents, adults, and seniors with neurodevelopmental, neurological, and/or psychiatric disorders, I have applied knowledge gained from courses in psychopathology, neuroscience, and lifespan development. These positions have required me to be adaptable, helping me build problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills. I have also utilized my suicide intervention skills and those that I have learned in my neurorehabilitation training course. I am confident that my extensive research experience, lifelong experience working with diverse groups of people, and my knowledge from my BA degree will make me a strong member of whichever organization I work with next!
