About Julia Farroni
By education a Chemical Engineer, my professional roles have evolved greatly over my career. Initially I focused on improving optical fiber manufacturing using Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition and working on product design for cutting-edge glass optical fibers. My role grew to supervising skilled technicians, then onto Process Engineering manager and Manufacturing Engineering manager positions. As leader for cross-functional projects, I directed diverse groups to accomplish multi-year endeavors (implementation of second shift, rapid product scale-up and transition to high-volume manufacturing, equipment installations, ERP implementations, etc.). Most recently, I am also overseeing the Systems & Database group, and have led programming and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) across the entire plant, and designed new PowerBI dashboards for real-time KPI (Key Performance Indicators) reporting. As a highly-organized, disciplined and enthusiastic engineer, I am always up for a challenge, especially when it requires a combination of both technical ingenuity and human interactions.
