Background
About Julia Finegan
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and now a true New Yorker, Julia is a strategic and thoughtful leader with more than 10 years of education experience. From classroom teacher to network wide Leadership Fellow, Julia has acquired both practical and analytical experience in her field. Julia has worked and built skills in a variety of settings and contexts, most extensively as a classroom teacher, sales representative, and research assistant. These experiences have allowed Julia to further understand the importance of a strong early childhood foundation towards lifetime success. Prior to moving to New York, Julia served as a 2010 Metro-Atlanta Teach for America corps member. In all aspects of her life, Julia values commitment to diversity and inclusion and strives to continually confront personal and systematic biases. Julia holds a Masters of Arts in Politics and Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Georgia Southern University in Political Science and minor in International Studies. In her free time, Julia enjoys exploring the childhood with her three children and watching the Georgia Bulldogs dominate college football.
