About Julia Groves
Originally from Flint, MI, my intense curiosity between art/science led me to Virginia Tech's school of Architecture. My curiosity, rigor, and discipline leads me to be a highly proactive student to architecture, having both office experience and participation in selective student study away programs (Boston Open-Lab 2024). The past two summers I have spent in architectural firms in the greater Blue Ridge area, Burns & McDonnell, and SFCS observing professional practice and exercising my educational skills. Outside of the classroom, I have a deep passion in using my creative talents within my community which I do so through sketching & conversating in my free time along with volunteering at a local Therapeutic Equestrian Center and Make-A-Wish.
