Accomplished and effective educational leader with a proven record of driving systemic school improvement at both district and state levels. Committed advocate for underserved and rural communities, known for championing equity, excellence, and innovation in education. As a Program Administrator at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), I provide strategic support to school districts and charter schools in the areas of school improvement planning, capital project oversight, budget development and analysis, and the implementation of evidence-based strategies to enhance student achievement. I possess deep expertise in federal program compliance and monitoring and lead efforts in facilitating strategic planning for rapid district-wide improvement. I also conduct comprehensive resource allocation reviews to ensure fiscal efficiency and alignment with instructional priorities. Previously, as Executive Director of Federal Programs, School Improvement, and K–8 Curriculum in Cherokee County Schools, I spearheaded district-wide initiatives that led to accelerated learning and significantly improved student outcomes across all schools. Our work was instrumental in addressing and overcoming the academic setbacks caused by COVID-19. In addition to this role, I managed multiple portfolios, including Professional Development, Beginning Teacher Support, and Teacher Licensure. My leadership as a turnaround middle school principal resulted in the development of a high-performing team, leading the school to exceed academic growth expectations and achieve significant gains in student proficiency. Expertise includes Strategic Planning, School Improvement, Instructional Leadership, Literacy Development, Data-Driven Instruction, Federal and State Compliance, Blended Learning, Professional Learning, Early Childhood Education, and K–12 Curriculum Design. I hold an Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction.
