About Julia Hunter

My name is Julia Hunter and I am a fourth year pharmacy student at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (UF COP) in Gainesville, Florida. I attended the University of South Florida (USF) for undergrad and I graduated from USF with my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2021. My desire to continuously learn, my undivided attention to detail, and my passion for helping others has driven me to pursue a career in clinical pharmacy. As a future clinical pharmacist, I hope to use my knowledge and skills to optimize patient care, while also ensuring that every patient’s voice is heard. Throughout my time at the UF COP, I have stepped out of my comfort zone and pursued leadership positions in many organizations. I served as the Student Council Representative for PediaGators and the Fundraising Chair for UF COP Gator Pharmacy Wellness. I also explored my passion for teaching by serving as a Skills Lab Teaching Assistant for the second year pharmacy students and a Rho Chi Village Ambassador for the first year pharmacy students. In addition to my involvement in student organizations at the UF COP, I have experience working in both community and hospital pharmacy. During my time at USF, I worked as a pharmacy technician at Palma Ceia Health Mart Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy in Tampa. During pharmacy school, I worked as an inpatient pharmacy intern in the Oncology Services department at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. In the future, I aspire to pursue a residency and a career that integrates my passions for pediatric pharmacy, hematology/oncology pharmacy, and infectious disease pharmacy.
