About Julia Kantarovsky

Capgemini Government Solutions, LLC offers global expertise with small business agility and simplicity. A wholly owned subsidiary of Capgemini, with over 15 years of experience serving the federal government, we offer a full-range of advisory, implementation and management consulting services to the intel, public safety, health, and civilian communities. And a bit about myself: “How did you get into coding after years of playing in orchestras?” This is a question I get often, and my extreme career pivot can be explained by what I see as two completely different fields that employ many similar core skills and values. Learning a language. Creativity. Problem solving. Extreme focus. Practice. Constant learning. Collaboration. This is how I’ve been able to succeed in a career as a classical violist and then pivot to a fulfilling career as a Salesforce developer. I’d been honing my skills as a violist, becoming fluent in the language of music, spending hours focusing in practice rooms, finding creative ways to get my desired result. Researching and figuring out the best ways to interpret and perform new pieces. Doing the same thing together in chamber groups and orchestras, working together with others to make beautiful music. And so, when it came time to tackle a new challenge, coding felt second nature. Again, I learned programming languages and the tech lingo to go with it. I am able to tackle problems, find creative solutions, learn with Trailhead, read the docs, and collaborate with those on my team and colleagues in other departments. This has led me to today, where my skills include design, development, and implementation of custom Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, and VisualForce pages, along with Apex, SOQL, SOSL, and SFDX. Also, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, and Agile. I've developed custom data integrations between multiple systems, and have the ability to perform administrative responsibilities including custom fields, workflows, validation rules, and user management. My unique background allows me to look at any problem from unconventional angles and continue to tackle new ones. There’s certainly more to learn, and I welcome the challenge.
