About Julia Kellner

As an IB trained language teacher, I have 8 years experience teaching in international schools, delivering meaningful and challenging lessons to students Year 6-13 in IGCSE, IB German A - Literature, Language & Literature, B HL & SL, A2, AbInitio, mother-tongue support and French Bac. I also have experience teaching KS3 EAL classes. As a native German and English speaker, I have a track record of successful syllabi development and principled and creative teaching. I greatly enjoy creating a collaborative and concept-based learning experience for my learners, who I support to become resilient, creative and self-aware. My timely and goal-directed feedback has been praised as best practice by management and more importantly has helped learners greatly to self-manage, be critical and pro-active towards their own work and progress. As my experience indicates, I am dedicated to holistic schools and enjoy creating intellectual and social balance for students, having offered a German language Club, Cooking CAS, European Cinema Club and Master Chef. Having lead my own boarding house, I have a nuanced understanding of the challenges international boarding students face, and seek to provide an encouraging, secure and a caring environment in which students can thrive and find balance, providing opportunity for service, activities, outdoor, personal and social education.
