About Julia Kendrix

Hello, I am Julia Kendrix a graduate of the University of South Dakota Health Science program. As a part of this program I have had the opportunity to spend 90 hours shadowing in an Emergency Room which has shaped my love of the medical field. I am CPR and CNA certified. I spent a year working in the Alzheimer’s unit of a nursing home and it was a wonderful experience. I have also spent countless hours volunteering for numerous organizations in the Vermillion area. These organizations include Children’s Miracle Network, American Heart Association, the Backpack Program, Welcome Table, SESDAC, and Sanford Nursing Home. I am involved with the American Heart Association, Hope4Africa, and Alpha Phi. I have been the Vice President of Public Relations for Hope4Africa, New member of the year for Alpha Phi, Director of Chapter Events for Alpha Phi, and PanHellenic Delegate for Alpha Phi. The classes and experiences I have had in the USD Health Science program given me the opportunity to find my calling in helping others and in the medical field. In my spare time I enjoy many hobbies. Last summer I ran my first half marathon and couldn’t be more excited to make it an annual occurrence. I also compete within the Miss America Organization. I am Currently Miss Siouxland and I will be competing for the Miss South Dakota Title this summer. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my family at home in the Black Hills.
