I am a strategic bilingual communicator with extensive experience in leadership roles. Skilled mediator who excels in conflict resolution and relationship building. In the role of Director, Policy and Regulatory Affairs, reporting to the Executive Director, I am responsible for advancing CIFFA’s advocacy agenda, working to influence public policy development positively and proactively and to address regulatory issues that affect our members' ability to conduct day-to-day business. As well as managing CIFFA’s volunteer national committees in sea freight, airfreight, customs, sustainability and technology, I represent the legislative and regulatory interests of CIFFA members with government authorities, carriers and other associations. I also provide leadership direction to a Communications team and a lobbyist. Speechwriting is also part of my role, in preparation for our AGM and our Membership Directory publication I coordinate the preparation of an annual President's speech. I am a skilled moderator who has facilitated many panels in the topic areas of trucking and supply chain, women in logistics and sustainability. Content creation comes naturally to me, across multiple media formats. Since I have been crafting well researched and well presented editorial and marketing material in many formats, maintaining strict adherence to deadlines. I began my journalistic career as Assistant Editor for a trucking B2B publication, progressing to Assistant Editor working simultaneously on both a trucking and a logistics B2B magazine. This led to Managing Editor for both of these publications, followed by a role as Features Editor for three trade publications, Associate Editor, and then Editor of Canadian Shipper magazine. I am skilled at managing projects from planning stages to completion. I write well-researched, well-documented material in a vast range of topics. My interpersonal skills are excellent and have evolved significantly through my experience as interviewer and moderator. A challenging role that allows me to use my written and oral communication as well as research skills is preferred: this role would have a mix of independent and group work opportunities.
