About Julia Matthews

I grew up in the forests of Mount Dandenong in the house my grandad built with his bare hands. It’s here where I first learned that anything is possible if you set your mind to it, because my house shouldn’t exist. It’s a tin shed my grandad turned into a holiday house, and my father continued to make additions well into adulthood. My dad isn’t an architect - he’s a computer nerd and government contractor. But he managed to turn our tin shed into a 21st-century tech marvel with just some elbow grease and the magic of YouTube tutorials. Thus was born the family mantra “I can do anything - just show me what to Google”. I work with disruptors, visionaries and dreamers to bring impossible projects to life. In my short career, I’ve been lucky enough to work with multiple companies in the early stages of their development. As it turns out, I thrive in the start-up environment. A fast-paced workplace where no day is the same and you have to wear multiple hats? Sign me up! I’ve written in entertainment, video games, ecommerce, political activism, reproductive health education, and even cooking. Move aside Jack - if you want someone for all trades, you need Julia. Currently, I’m working with Dropshipzone, the leading B2B2C marketplace for dropshipping in Australia. We connect dropshipping suppliers and retailers across the globe, making it easy for aspiring entrepreneurs and side hustlers to create, grow and scale their own ecommerce businesses. SEO and content strategy are key aspects of my role as Content Lead - with the help of our amazing content and marketing teams, we now receive 95% of retailer sign-ups from organic traffic. Outside my day job, I’m passionate about social justice, community service and accessibility. Through my background in psychology and anthropology, I gained valuable insights into human behaviour and communication that inform my work to this day. I value teamwork, integrity, respect and loyalty, and I strive to bring a positive attitude to every workplace, and every interaction.
