About Julia Morphet

Head of Monash Nursing and Midwifery and having held leadership roles in emergency nursing for more than a decade, I am the Immediate Past President of the College of Emergency Nursing Australasia (CENA). With integrated leadership and expertise in emergency nursing and education my career informs my research, which is focused on health workforce (preparation for practice, transition to practice, simulation in teaching, and transition to speciality practice); and the patient experience in the emergency department, in particular, patient flow models. Proud to be awarded the Julie Finucane OAM Medal for Leadership in Emergency Nursing in 2021 - the highest honour of the College of Emergency Nursing Australasia – I was honoured as an emergency nurse who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the leadership of the profession and discipline of emergency nursing.
