About Julia Patterson

I am currently working with Plano ISD at their adult transition center for 18+ SPED students. I serve as both a transition teacher as well as develop and coordinate our internship job sites. I work with Texas Workforce Solutions and providers to create work experience and potential paid employment for our students. I thoroughly enjoy working with others to learn, teach, coach, and inspire them to grow and learn in their skills and abilities. I began working in the community and people with disabilities in 2007 as a therapeutic horseback riding instructor. My extensive riding instructor background presented the opportunity to take my skills outside the arena and into the workforce. I began as a contract job coach with a supported employment agency, LaunchAbility serving as a job coach, Academy Director and Employment Consultant. During that time obtained my Teaching Certification for Pre-K through 12th grade Special Education for the state of Texas. LaunchAbility, we merged with My Possibilities in February of 2018 where I continued serving as an Employment Consultant until June of 2020. I worked in both our Academy Program serving to connect 18+ transition students in local schools to long term employment and direct placement services.
