About Julia Polster

My name is Julia Polster; I'm a recent graduate from the University of Pennsylvania where I studied English with a concentration in Drama and minored in Music. My love of the entertainment industry is rooted in my passion for the power that language holds to captivate an audience.Recently, I worked at Temple Hill Entertainment as a Creative Development Intern. The primary responsibility of the position was to provide coverage for novels that were being considered for adaptation into feature films, including a book summary and my personal commentary on its viability. These responsibilities fostered a sense of creative innovation and sharpened my attention to detail. I often worked with competing deadlines and balanced several important projects at once. Before that, I worked as a Programming Intern for the World Cafe show on WXPN, an NPR affiliate based in Philadelphia. My responsibilities varied, but my daily deliverables often saw me completing extensive research on artists visiting the show and organizing raw information into show rundowns and playlists that would be sent to affiliates across the country. I also often wrote promotional copy that would be read on air.In addition to my professional experience, I worked diligently on my English degree. One course that inspired me was “The Art of Editing,” in which I studied the Chicago Manual of Style and key techniques in copy editing, developmental editing, line editing, and proof reading. Another was “Poetry, Music, and Sounds of the Twentieth Century,” which exposed me to new skills in audio editing. I’m looking forward to connecting! Feel free to reach out.
