Background
About Julia R. Brown
I love being a Spanish language educator: even on the hard days, it’s what I love doing. I am THAT Spanish teacher who genuinely loves grading essays and designing original, creative, equity-based assessments. My teaching background begins in academia, and today I hold 10+ years of teaching experience. Over the years, I have accumulated advanced knowledge in language course design, curriculum development, and in pedagogies for second language and heritage learner Spanish courses. I bring my literacy in cutting edge pedagogical research, my familiarity with Latin American cultural history and my passion for fostering authentic connection to the table in my teaching practice. Nothing energizes me more than witnessing my students deepen their cross-cultural understanding while becoming effective communicators in the Spanish language. I also love doing Spanish—> English translation work.Let’s connect!
