About Julia Reddy
An intersectional public health scholar, Dr. Reddy is currently an adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Social Work and a research and implementation consultant for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She is a member of the PRISM research collaborative at Massachusetts General Hospital, winner of the 2023 Sidney H. Schnoll Early Career Scholarship, and a grantee of a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, NIH. Formerly, she coordinated women and families' services for the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Dr. Reddy has a lasting commitment to public service and utilization of data to improve equitable care for individuals and families. Dr. Reddy is interested in understanding and designing better public systems to serve families with intersectional vulnerabilities. This focus complements her rigorous methodological training, prior experience in governmental service, and more than 15 years experience translating research for practitioner and policy audiences. Dr. Reddy completed a PhD in Maternal and Child Health with a minor in Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She also holds an MA in Human Development and Child Study from Tufts University and a BA in English from Duke University.
