About Julia Sobrevilla

I am a seasoned international Public Affairs senior executive, with international experience in building corporate reputation, developing communications and positioning strategies and ESG Sustainability platforms. I have worked for large-scale multinational companies such as Coca-Cola and Viacom International in the US, Brazil and Peru. I also count with not-for-profit sector experience with Population Services International, a US-based international NGO, where I was based in Washington DC, Mexico, Rwanda and Mozambique. I have been based in Peru for the past 12 years, occupying senior public affairs positions in multinational, regional and local companies. My experience combines Marketing and Corporate Communications, positioning the MTV and Nickelodeon brands in Latin America, with responsibility for the region, with a strong emphasis on Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. The position demanded working with different countries, implementing consumer and trade experiences, coordinating with multiple PR firms and planning and producing live events. I migrated to international development in order to apply my private sector skills to developing countries. As Country Manager with PSI in Rwanda, Mexico and Mozambique, I worked with international donors and local governments to create programs to promote behavior change communications to prevent endemic diseases such as malaria or TB. I have extensive experience in working with governments and multi-stakeholder contexts, positioning brands and corporate image, as well as sustainability programs linked to purpose. I have a proven track record as a leader and in building effective teams. I thrive in complex contexts that demand quick responses and rapid solutions. My greatest strengths are my capacity for analysis and strategic thinking, creative problem solving and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I am multilingual and multicultural – I grew up in Peru, Mexico and Colombia. I studied and worked in the United States, with work experience in Brazil, the US, Rwanda, Mozambique and Peru, and I am fluent in four languages.
