About Julia Thompson

In my current position, I provide guidance and leadership for students and specialists within the JAG program. I network with partners from colleges to industries to provide opportunities for career advancement. I produce large-scale events on a small-scale budget. Some of the events that I have chaired, organized, and provided for our over 400 students include leadership development conferences emphasizing how these students can be great leaders in their community. These events include partnering with area colleges, the military, and industry. I modernized the regional career development conference by giving our students one-on-one interactions with the region's mayors, employers, and influencers. I encourage student engagement and provide a consistent student experience. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to professional excellence in the non-profit, business, and education sectors. My goal throughout my life is to provide support, connections, and resources that some students, friends, and family may not know about or be able to connect. I enjoy learning new things and know continuous learning is the key to a long and happy life. I enjoy my time outdoors and being with my family. Of course, travel and a new adventure are something that I am always ready to do.
