About Julia Undeutsch

I'm a Dev & UX Accessibility Specialist (CPWA, GDE) at Atos, working on the Global Accessibility Team. Since 2020, I’ve written blog posts, created videos, and delivered talks and workshops on accessibility in English, German, and Japanese. I support development teams with accessibility audits, WCAG testing, and integrating inclusive design from the start. I also build and improve components for better user experiences and lead hands-on workshops to enhance product accessibility. I am the organizer of events and webinars like, the A11y Webinar Series via GDG, International Women's Day through Women Techmakers 2.0, and the Accessibility & Inclusive Barcamp Vienna. In my spare-time I am an independent researcher on Japanese inclusion, focusing on disability, inclusion and accessibility in everyday life, design, and policy. My work spans topics like Deaf-centered spaces, gender in Kanji, to accessible public infrastructure. With over five extended trips to Japan, I aim to bridge cultural insight with inclusive solutions. I am a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) since Oktober 2022, and Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) since May 2025). I am a member of IAAP and active in the IAAP Education Accessibility Working Group, as well as VÖSI and WomenInICT. Since November 2023 I am a Google Developer Expert for Web Technologies.
