About Julia Walker

I have been a successful Project Manager for almost 10 years, and a qualified Prince2 practitioner, with a proven track record of delivering quality results on a variety of business change projects. Now I am applying that experience to a PMO Manager's role to enable the smooth running of a busy IS Programme Delivery Office, to identify areas for performance improvement and support with delivery and resource planning. As a Project Manager I delivered included new business integrations, service improvement initiatives, re-branding projects and configuration specification for and the implementation of new or upgraded IT systems. Often there were no dedicated project resources and I have therefore been Project, Change and Implementation Manager and Business Analyst, which has provide me with ample opportunity to enhance my skills across all areas and develop excellent influencing and negotiating skills when rallying support in matrix managed environments. I have drawn on this experience to lead the PMO as I understand the challenges our Project Managers face on a daily basis. My personal values are to lead by example, treat others as I would want to be treated myself and to leave things better than they were before, and these drive me to succeed whilst forging strong and on-going professional relationships, building trust and mutual respect.
