About Julia Washburn

My name is Julia Washburn and I am currently a junior at Merrimack College. I am in the Honors Program double majoring in Psychology and Criminology. At Merrimack, I am involved in Honors Student Council which has taught me leadership and teamwork skills as well as working at the college's Writing Center as a Writing Fellow. Additionally, I write for the Northview newspaper which is the Merrimack honors community newspaper. I have also nannied for many families teaching me how to communicate with children, and more importantly how to communicate a child's need to an adult. I am looking to widen my knowledge on career opportunities in both fields and am hoping to gain hands on experience. I have special interests in research, child advocacy, and the connections and disconnections between the prison system and underprivileged populations.
