I have worked in civil litigation/insurance defense since obtaining my JD in 2005. Since then, I have litigated a wide variety of cases from pre-suit through appeal including general liability, complex personal injury, premises liability, wrongful death, transportation/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, medical malpractice, coverage issues, and products liability. Recently, I have defended several cases involving traumatic brain injuries with great results for my clients. I have experience litigating cases in which the brain injury is questionable. I have also handled cases where the brain injury was legitimate and was able to take steps to limit damages and ultimately resolve the case. I also enjoy appellate practice. I have prevailed in the Court of Appeals for the Eastern District of Missouri on issues such as the firefighter's rule as well as wavier of affirmative defenses. Recently, the appellate court upheld summary judgment I secured on behalf of my school district client on the issue of statutory employment.
