About Julia Yin

I graduated in July 2019 with a 2:1 in Games Design and then went on to work as Consumer Insight Specialist for Kingston - HyperX. I have a very good understanding of both game development, the creative suites and also am experienced in a variety of different styles of games from FPS to MMOs. I am an Esport enthusiast and have been competitively gaming from the age of 16, favourites being Valorant, League of Legends, CSGO and Overwatch. In 2019 during the last year of my undergraduate course I interned at LVP, a spanish based esport organisation, to run the UK League Championships. During this internship I learnt a lot about official esport practices in compliance with Riot Gaming, solved problems and answered questions for the Esports community in the UK and also got involved in the structure and format of the tournament itself. During my second and third year at Brunel University, I was also the president and founder of Brunel Esports Society, where with the help of the full committee team, I organised events, tournaments, social meets, and ran a discord community with over 200 student members involved. We played in the National University Esports League and the National Student Esports events and organised several different teams in our society for Rainbow 6, Overwatch, League of Legends, CSGO and DOTA2 to participate and compete with many other universities on a national level. We have our own facebook group, Brunel Union Society webpage, email address and Twitter account. In late April 2019 I volunteered at Insomnia Gaming Festival, one of the biggest LANS in the UK and was part of a 3 man team running the League of Legends tournament which was over the 3 days, with the finals played on the stage. I had event stage experience here, during the finals in League of Legends where I had to monitor and organise the players and ensure that there were no technical problems.
