Background
About Julian Claxton
I help organisations maintain the integrity of their sensitive information by advising on how to ensure that only the right people have access to it. I also provide advice on assessing credibility, particularly amongst trusted insiders. My early years were spent gaining experience in physical and technical surveillance and security. I later decided to enhance my skills to detect covert surveillance, investigate insider threats, and consult on behavioural intelligence. I’ve had the privilege of working with all levels of government and corporations; sharing my knowledge and experiences in a field I am wildly passionate about. I am also focused on putting my skills and experience to good use by supporting organisations, institutes and associations with which I share a common interest. I am a:> Founder Member of the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Institute in London (TSCMi)> Member (and former Boardmember) of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO)> Member of ASIS International > Regular presenter at conferences and industry forums To augment my practical experience, I hold a Master’s Degree (MSc.) in Communication, Behaviour and Credibility Analysis, and:> Graduate Diploma in Behavioural Analysis and Investigative Interviewing > CPD qualifications in The Linguistics of Interpersonal Communication > Diploma of Government Investigations > Diploma of Security Risk Management > Certificates in Technical Surveillance Countermeasures and telephone analysis. Analysing people’s behaviour helps me to identify anomalies, which may be indicators of deception, espionage, sabotage, or other malicious intent. Please get in touch if you’d like some support in any of the areas I specialise in, or if you need a speaker for an event. I’m happy to consider connection requests, particularly if I can contribute something worthwhile, or learn from others. Some recent presentations include: ๏ ASIS ACT Chapter Conference - Covert Surveillance: An open-floor discussion - 2022 ๏ AIPIO Intelligence Conference – How employees can use behavioural intelligence to detect insider threats - 2022 ๏ Security & Government Expo [SaGE] ASIS International (ACT Chapter) – How Organisations Promote Insider Threats - 2021 ๏ Forum of Australasian Security Executives – Covert Surveillance: Threats and Solutions - 2021 ๏ Australian Psychological Society - Insider Threat: Toxic Workplace Behaviour in Organisations - Panellist - 2021 ๏ Cyber Riskers - Sydney - The Elephant & The Mouse: Profiling Insider Threat Actors - 2020
