About Julian Dowson

Fresh from college my first job was drawing cartoons for a well known group of comics, however my Father told me that this was not a 'proper job' and I should go out to experience as much of the 'World of Work' as I could. So I did. I have worked - in the Fire Service, investigating fires- in the Police Force carrying out surveillance and evidential work- in America developing survival skills/confidence for troubled teenagers- as a teacher for 11-19 year olds- as a senior leader building and running a vocational sixth form centre- with local and central governments developing polices and implementing initiatives - set up a family run occupational health company. Tying all those experiences together I now work as an Occupational Hygienist and Training Consultant. My ethos has always been about 'improving the life chances of all', and working within the Occupational Health and Hygiene field it is my belief that "everybody has the right to leave work at the end of the day in a better state or health and wellbeing than when they started".
