About Julian Lam

I am the co-founder and core maintainer for NodeBB, a next-generation forum software (http://nodebb.com). Outside of my work at NodeBB. I am a web application programmer/system administrator with rock-solid experience in industry-standard web technologies including Javascript, PHP, and MySQL, as well as familiarity with server hosting solutions including nginx, Apache, and general Linux distributions. I am also familiar with cutting edge technologies quickly gaining momentum, including Node.js, Redis, CouchDB, Backbone, and CoffeeScript. My primary focus is on building fluid and responsive front-end interfaces, and maintaining the server-side code that powers the web applications you see today. I also have experience working in the social gaming industry, and worked with the team behind the release of Lionsgate's "Dirty Dancing" Facebook game, in conjunction with Social Game Universe. I have experience integrating social media into existing websites to drive interest and traffic.
