About Julian Oldmeadow

Social Scientist I have been an academic social psychologist for over ten years, working at various universities in Australia and the UK, including Cambridge, York, Exeter, and Swinburne. I am an expert on human social behaviour and have published more than 25 scientific articles on social stereotypes, intergroup relations, first impressions, facial appearance, facial hair, work group interactions, terrorism and other topics. I am an expert in designing, conducting and communicating scientific research on all aspects of human social behaviour, and using statistical analyses to answer questions about individual and group behaviour. Social commentator I have provided expert commentary on a range of social behaviours (terrorism, crowds, beards) to a variety of online and print media. I work as a freelance consultant designing, conducting and communicating scientific research to support product launches and PR campaigns. I have worked with the likes of Remington, Gillette, NAB, Dare, and Pure Blonde. Adventurer I have traveled the world, climbed mountains in the Himalaya, ridden a motorcycle across India, trekked to Everest base camp, cycled across Morocco, Myanmar, Scotland, Pakistan and the Indian Himalaya, scuba dived in Thailand, skied in the Alps, and ridden a stage of the Tour de France (as an amateur). Occasionally I work as an adventure cycle touring guide, leading groups of cyclists on extended cycle trips in remote parts of the world.
