About Julie Bailey

I am an LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in Illinois, currently serving as Clinical Manager of outpatient therapy programs at Centerstone. I have a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty focus on grief counseling. This became a natural niche area for me after spending 16 years in my first career, funeral service. During that time, I was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and I owned and operated Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL with my ex-husband. As a part of my second career, I frequently provide training for other clinicians on helping their clients deal with grief and loss, having brought forward with me the insights I gained from walking through tragedies and losses with hundreds of grieving families. In addition to my passion for mental health therapy, I am also a writer. I publish articles about a variety of topics related to mental health, relationships, and general life guidance on my website,"Navigating Life," at I am in the process of publishing my first book as well, and I actively create uplifting and educational content for my Facebook page called "Perspective" and also for my multiple other social media sites. I am in the process of developing a podcast as well. I am a public speaker, musician, parent, manager, empath, encourager, ordained minister, and genealogy buff. I love old cemeteries, photography, loud music, quiet beaches, panda bears, trivia, word games, and reading textbooks for fun. I am a Potterhead (Hufflepuff through and through), and I'm ridiculously enthusiastic about the daffodils of spring and the colorful leaves of fall. But above all things, the ultimate purpose of my life is to help others and to always lead them in the way of healing. In all that I do, this is always the overarching goal and mission that I have devoted my life to fulfilling.
