About Julie Henderson

Julie Henderson is a dietitian currently working in the clinical field of dietetics. She wants to help the public incorporate proper food and nutrition practices into their unique lifestyles. She desires to improve daily living with preventative and improvement practices for health through individualized nutrition care. She educates and helps guide individuals to problem-solve their unique situations and find ways to improve their understanding of food and nutrition. She is excited to jump into the clinical workforce again with a like-minded mission to improve people's health and well-being. Julie isn't your average dietetic intern. She was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. She is a military spouse with three children. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2021 with cum laude honors and dual B.S. degrees in dietetics and human nutrition. Julie’s interest in dietetics formed after personally dealing with childhood malnutrition and obesity, extreme dieting to compete in physique competitions, and witnessing family health issues. Through these experiences, she fostered an awareness of the importance of proper nutrition on health and well-being in all stages of life. Julie has gained clinical and food service experience from employment with Southeastern Cardiology Associates as a Medical Insurance Specialist and as a Kitchen Assistant for The Eating Recovery Center, San Antonio. She spent time as a student intern at Audie Murphy Veteran’s Hospital. She has also volunteered with churches, the military, and food bank organizations within her communities. In her free time, Julie enjoys walking her dogs, exploring new locations, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. She has had experience with clinical rotations including long-term care, dialysis clinic, and inpatient care for adults and pediatrics, as well as food service, technology informatics, and community rotations in the Maryland and DC areas.
