About Julie Keyer

I am an experienced STEM instructor for college-bound high school students including those who have language-based learning differences. I am flexible, and have a proven track record teaching a wide variety of science and mathematics to a diverse student population. I work to push every student to their potential, while making math and science accessible for all. In my current role, I am teaching Chemistry and Biology in a dynamic, incredibly collaborative environment. The available laboratory spaces give me the opportunity not only to teach laboratory techniques and experimental design, but also to have a small research team working on novel composite materials. My previous school prided itself on a hand-on approach to teaching. As such, the sudden transition to an online environment was a challenge. I implemented and trained faculty how to use Zoom, Google Classroom, and more. Along with teaching Calculus, Precalculus, Physical Science, Conceptual Physics, and Newtonian Physics that year, I stepped forward to help as I saw needs that were not being met administratively, handling scheduling, educational evaluations, and daily electronic check-in during the pandemic. I worked to increase and improve communication between our faculty while we were remote, and no longer able to casually drop in to visit with each other. I continued to play an integral roll in our admissions and educational evaluation process.
