About Julie Lawrence

After working with neurodivergent students, I developed a keen interest in behavioral analysis. I'm currently earning a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis at OIT and plan to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Before changing careers to follow my lifelong dream of working with children, I spent over 15 years in the Banking industry. I hold a BS degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Special Education, and I love learning, always seeking opportunities for professional development. As a former branch manager, I played a critical role in building an inclusive workplace by promoting respectful exchanges of thoughts and beliefs. I plan to utilize my extensive professional experience to foster a safe and supportive learning environment for children. My passion for psychology and the healthy development of children has been a driving force throughout my higher education. I've focused on issues such as supporting students who have diverse needs and abilities, managing challenging behaviors in the classroom, addressing learning difficulties and disabilities, collaborating with other teachers and staff, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, implementing evidence-based interventions, maintaining accurate records and progress monitoring, communicating effectively with parents and caregivers.
