About Julie Munro

Currently, I am a Surface Water Specialist with the West Central Region at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). Demonstrated knowledge and experience in surface water (streams/lakes) quality assessment and related field work monitoring techniques by collecting water samples and measuring water quality and aquatic habitat conditions, as well as customer service, administrative work, technical report writing, and interpreting and applying provincial environmental legislation. Holds university degrees in Applied Geography (B.A.) and in Watershed Ecosystem Environmental Science (M.Sc.) with a background in the Geographical Information Systems (GIS). As of January 2021, I have a total of seven (7) years of employment with the Ontario government as Environmental Assessment Project Evaluator (MOE), Environmental Scientist (MOE), Project/Analytical Biologist (MNRF), Surface Water Specialist (MOECC), Environmental Officer (MECP), and Permit-to-Take-Water Evaluator (MECP). Seven-and-a-half (7.5) years of employment with Quinte Conservation as Water Resources Technician then promoted to Surface Water Specialist for Drinking Water Source Protection. Skilled in Limnology, Environmental Awareness, Water Resource Management, Environmental Compliance, and Microsoft Office.
