About Julie Oconnell

After having moved from Ireland to Germany when I was a child, I had the privilege of growing up bilingually with both English and German. After graduating college in 2011 with a Bachelor of Business Degree in International Business and Languages I applied for a place on the EOP Programme offered by IBEC. In August 2011 I started my 2 year EOP placement with Tourism Ireland in Germany as a Marketing Assistant. As part of the EOP Programme I studied part-time at Dublin Institute of Technology where I graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Development in January 2013. During my time with Tourism Ireland I was able to gain a lot of experience in marketing, publicity and finance as well as working in an international environment. In September 2013 I started working with Goldbeck Hörz Public Relations GmbH. Additionally to working in the public relations sector I finished my MSc. Degree as a part-time student at Dublin Institute of Technology. I graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology with a MSc. in International Business Development in November 2014. Since November 2014 I am working as E-Marketing Executive for Tourism Ireland in Frankfurt. My main responsibilities in this job are digital campaign management as well as the management of the website ireland.com/de-de/, Social Media, and assisting the marketing team with various projects such as Influencer Marketing, Newsletters and Competitions. In future I would like to implement my experience in digital marketing in an international environment.
