About Julie Osburne

As a practitioner of mindfulness-based, transpersonal counseling, I incorporate compassionate awareness into more practical, skill-based mental health approaches. I offer a container as clients integrate the known and unknown parts of themselves, moving towards insight, authenticity, and choice. I am passionate about building healthy interpersonal relationships, shifting from codependence to personal empowerment. I draw from modalities including Gestalt, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I value the principles of Nonviolent Communication, which I have been teaching for years and which inform my work with clients. My approach is influenced by social justice, and how our intersectional identities influence our experiences of privilege, oppression, and mental health. I am also a musician, and am excited to incorporate the creative arts and play into the therapeutic process for interested clients.
