About Julie Rieger

As manager of the Legal Vice Presidency's legal team that supports operations in the East Asia & Pacific Region in the recently formed LEGAS EAP, SAR & SG (Legal East Asia & Pacific, South Asia and Structured Finance & Guarantees), I am truly privileged to work with a stellar team consisting of committed international development lawyers, legal analysts, paralegals and assistants, dedicated to the twin goals of the World Bank Group. The highly decentralized EAP legal team serves our clients with true passion for development. As part of the Legal Vice Presidency's management team, as well as the Regional Leadership Team for the East Asia & Pacific Region, in addition to ensuring the delivery of high quality legal services, I strive to assist the Region on the legal aspects of developing innovative solutions for the Bank's clients, and, as part of the Legal Vice Presidency's management team, driving the Legal Vice Presidency's change and innovation agenda forward. As a manager, I am fully committed to the diversity and inclusion agenda of the World Bank Group and to leading in an inclusive way which encourages participation and values the opinions of others. As the mother of two young children, I also strive to serve as a role model for working parents who are both dedicated to their careers as well as their families, including embracing working models that make such a balancing act feasible.
