About Julie Sharp

One of my favorite authors is Parker Palmer, who writes that "our lives contain clues.threads that once deciphered, point us to our true vocation.and path of authentic service in the world." This is also one of my favorite quotes as it articulates succinctly both the intention and underlying impetus for much of what I aspire to be about, both personally and professionally. I am always looking for like-minded friends who want to make a difference by doing work that arises out of their most deeply held values. It is only as we are able to come together, united in our diverse giftings, that we can become the "positive forces for change" that we need in our society today. Currently, I am pleased to be part of a new worldwide movement for social change that seeks to eradicate malnutrition around the world through social entrepreneurship. For the first time, a social entrepreneurship model is being implemented on a global scale, creating a platform that allows ordinary people to realize their power to create sustainable change in the world. The creation of communities of passionate, like-minded people working toward a common goal; the application of existing models in new and innovative ways; partnerships with global partners; the power of technology to link all of this together; all in service of solving problems of a magnitude previously thought impossible to resolve; that is the power of social entrepreneurship. In the process, the hope is to educate and empower people and organizations; to transcend the boundaries of what has been thought possible; to create new paradigms of how big problems can be solved; and to unleash an unstoppable wave of sustainable change in the world.
