About Julie Simons

Julie Simons is an experienced college counselor with a proven track record who loves helping students find "best fit" colleges where they will thrive and succeed. A Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), Julie approaches working with students to help them define and reach their goals for college and beyond as a tremendous privilege. Having lived through the college process with her three children, she understands firsthand the stress for students, parents, and entire families and is dedicated to helping you manage the process with empathy and laughter. Julie graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors in English from Stanford University, earned an MA in English from Stanford University, and did further graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania as a Penn Scholar. She taught high school English and freshman writing at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Miami. In 2008, Julie founded GirlFuture, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering girls in southeast Florida. Through GirlFuture, Julie mentored hundreds of girls helping them prepare for independent, successful futures.
