About Julie Smith

I worked in the Ports Industry for ABP for 20 years. My roles were varied and involved working in all the Ports around the UK - from Operations, Commercial, Legal to Insurance. During this time I gained all round knowledge of the Shipping Industry and still use it to this day I then worked as a Civil Servant for 18 months before starting work with Power Minerals based at Drax Power Station in 2010. I currently work as a Sales & Distribution Co-ordinator in small but busy Sales Team liaising with customers and suppliers to coordinate ash sales around the country to the building industry. The Materials sold by PML are sourced from both the UK and abroad and distributed to customers throughout the UK. I also work alongside a number of teams (still within PML) such as Operations, Imports and Quality Management Systems. Along with my day to day sales role I help with the import of materials to a number of UK Ports, and have developed Policies & Procedures to help the organisation gain ISO 9001 accreditation. I work and thrive in a busy office environment and will readily take on new challenges.
