About Julien Eynard

I am associate professor in control engineering at the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (France). I do my research work in the PROMES-CNRS laboratory (Process and Materials for Solar Energy)(UPR CNRS 8521) in the ELIAUS team (ElectronIc and AUtomatic control of System). I also give lessons in bachelor and master degrees of the department of Physics and Engineering Sciences. I participate in the supervision of three thesis of Ph.D. students who work in my laboratory. The first one, in collaboration with Cofely GDF-Suez, is about the control and the optimization of multi-energy thermal power plants and energy storage systems for building heating via hot water district networks, a topic that directly follows up from my own thesis topic. The second one, in collaboration with Pyrescom, concerns the control of heating systems in building with the objective of minimizing the energy use and increasing the thermal comfort of the occupants. This topic is in the continuity of my previous works done at Supélec (during my post-doc) and at the CEA-INES. The third one deals with the load management in multi-energy buildings. The aim of this work is to develop predictive strategies to optimize the management of the local production of renewable energy and electricity consumption, including storage capabilities and the connection with the electricity grid.
