About Julien Quickstad

Julien was working in the Oil & Gas Industry throughout Alberta since he was 16. After some adverse lived experiences he decided to use the tools he learned to advocate for mental health. Julien has made the transition to the mental healthcare field and plans to attain a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Education: Julien holds a 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate attained at Lakeland College. After working in the oilfield in Alberta he went back to Lakeland College to begin a Psychology BA. Julien has since then began school at York University in Toronto, Canada. He is currently enrolled in a Honours BA with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology. Experience: As previously mentioned Julien has been working in the Oil & Gas field since he was 16. He has experience with well completion, commissioning of SAGD facilities, and operations. He is currently a research assistant at University of Calgary, and part of a mental health promotion group in partnership with University of British Columbia. Julien is part of the YAMH PAC (Youth Addictions & Mental Health Advisory Council) for Alberta Health Services, and a member of the Children and Youth Mental Health council at Imagine Citizens Network.
