Musculoskeletal disorders are the number one cause of chronic disability in the U.S, while over 90% of the world's population will be plagued with some type of musculoskeletal disorder at some point in their lives. The burden of musculoskeletal disorders extends well beyond the individual patient's physical disability. Those suffering from musculoskeletal disorders and chronic orthopedic pain are also more likely to suffer from life-threatening related illnesses such as obesity, diabetes, drug addiction, mental health disorders, and cardiovascular disease. It is no wonder the musculoskeletal cost burden drains over half a trillion dollars in corporate, government, and patient healthcare costs and represents the top five expenditure for Fortune 500 employers. IMC lifts the burdens associated with musculoskeletal disorders through our unique Outcomes Accountable™ Care delivery systems. Unlike traditional orthopedic care, IMC's Outcomes Accountable™ Care achieves remarkable, consistent outcomes by placing reliable, response-based assessments on the front end of orthopedic management and by measuring and implementing IMC's strict, conservative care protocols for quicker, safer patient recovery. As Health Access Services Health Coach and Navigator, I explain outcomes accountable musculoskeletal care programs and benefits and coordinate/schedule care. I provide members accessing self-care with health coaching for the IMC Jointstrong application. I also access callers (go through triage questionnaire) to route them to the proper type of care path.
