About Juliet Steffe

A love for learning, healthcare, and working with people of all ages led me to the field of occupational therapy 28 years ago. I have been fortunate in the learning opportunities I have experienced throughout my career as an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist (CHT) and educator I worked for many years at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. During this time, I gained team leadership skills as OT Team Leader and student mentorship as OT Clinical Coordinator. I received training and certification in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT). Continuing to follow my love for learning, I went back to school to earn a doctorate in OT (OTD) with hopes of someday teaching OT students. I also had developed a love of orthopedics and achieved CHT. Seeing a need in my community for pediatric home health, I started a home health OT business and established a contract with a local home for medically fragile children. I currently work in higher education at Spalding University in Louisville, KY. As Director of Academic Fieldwork and Assistant Professor, I am fulfilling a drive to give back to my profession by educating future OTs. I am a candidate for Ed.D fostering my love for learning. I also continue to work as an outpatient OT/CHT with Louisville Orthopedic Rehab. I enjoy being a Red Cross volunteer with the blood donation program, developing a love and commitment to community service. I continue to look for opportunities to apply my knowledge, experience, and leadership skills to the field of occupational therapy and community service.
