About Julio Chavez

As a Legislative Fellow at the United States Senate, I leverage my Master of Public Policy and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Political Science to support the Senator's legislative agenda. I have experience in drafting memos for companies on federal funding opportunities, collaborating on securing funding for award recipients, and assisting in preparing questions for the Senator during hearings. I also have a background in government relations, having worked as an Interim Analyst at Sandia National Laboratories, where I prepared researchers for congressional testimony, monitored and analyzed congressional developments impacting the lab's mission areas, and drafted updates on legislative matters for executives and program managers. I am passionate about public policy and its impact on society, and I am always eager to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
