About Julio Lasky

Julio Lasky, Prior to his appointment as deputy Representative for NAFTA Negotiations in August 1991, he served in several capacities in the Mexican and Canadian private sectors. As a consultant for international trade, he has represented the Mexican government at the International Trade Tribunal. After the NAFTA negotiations, Mr. Lasky joined one of Canada's 500's as Director for Trade Services, Mexico where he also council and assisted an important number of Canadian companies with regulatory issues, trade intelligence, fact-finding and procedures for investment and trade with Mexico. Former Responsibilities: Senior Trade Advisor with Livingston Trade Services and Livingston International Inc, one of North America's leading customs brokerage, trade services and logistics firms.' Spearheaded and implemented the business expansion of customs brokerage services, warehousing, distribution and logistics into Mexico.' Supported. at a corporate level, 188 offices on customs and trade regulations regarding Mexico.' Assessed clients requirements on documentation and logistics for export of goods into Mexico.' Created and maintained liaison with government and key industry sectors to bring Livingston as a key player and prune service provider in NAFTA.' Participated in international forums which enhanced the Livingston group of companies present in the marketplace. Specialties: Mr. Lasky has over 45 years of hands-on experience in international trade. He has in-depth knowledge and experience in both importing and exporting. He is an executive director and main partner at JML International, a consulting firm with experience that focuses on trade issues and trade intelligence with Mexico and Latin America.
