About Julius Kisingu

I am what I am because of who we all are”. I firmly believe in the inherent interconnectedness of our existence, where the recognition of our identities and purpose is profoundly influenced by the shared struggles and aspirations of humanity. When we feel a deep sense of concern and responsibility towards addressing the challenges faced by humanity, it can be seen as an internal calling or moral compass, guiding us to take action and make a positive impact, like the voice of God. I am an enthusiastic Programme Manager with 20 years of experience working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in food security programme management. I hold a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture (BSc)- Crop Sciences. These courses combined with on-the-job learning experience have equipped me with a wide variety of skills and international experience in Programme Management. I was drawn to this field due to my inherent passion for humanitarian work and my desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the most vulnerable populations. The opportunity to work in the research, assessments, and monitoring unit at WFP allowed me to contribute to evidence-based decision-making and improve the effectiveness of interventions aimed at addressing hunger and food insecurity. However, after a decade of working in this capacity, I felt a deep yearning to return to the field, where I could directly engage with communities and drive transformative change at the grassroots level once again. I am happy that I can now immerse myself in the lives of those I aim to serve, witnessing firsthand the positive impact of my efforts and fostering meaningful connections that inspire me to continue making a difference. I am highly skilled in Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Stakeholder Management. Among my professional accomplishments is; Shared knowledge, expertise, and technology to enhance partnerships contributing to the country's efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to food and nutrition security, school meals and nutrition programs, and participatory learning monitoring and evaluation. Drawing from my experience in research, assessments, and monitoring, I am equipped with the knowledge and skills to analyze data, identify trends, and measure the impact of interventions, enabling me to make informed decisions and implement effective strategies in the pursuit of alleviating hunger and improving food security.
