About Jun Toyohara

Jun Toyohara studied biology at the Toho University. After obtaining his MSc degree for biology he worked as research scientist at the Nihon Medi-Physics Co, Ltd. In 2004, he received his PhD degree for pharmaceutical sciences at the Kyoto University and obtained a position as research scientist at the department of Molecular Probe at the National Institute of Radiological Sciences, Chiba, Japan. At present he is director of the Research Team for Neuroimaging and head of the PET radiopharmaceutical sciences at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Tokyo, Japan. Jun Toyohara has a background in biology (MSc) and a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences. His research focuses on the development of novel radioligands for positron emission tomography (PET), small animal PET imaging and apply these technologies to the basic and clinical neurosciences. He obtained several grants, such as the JSPS grants-in-aid for scientific research. He is member of several academic societies and committees (JSNM council of radiopharmaceutical sciences committee, JSNM branch committee, PET chemistry workshop committee, editorial board members of EJNMMI radiopharmacy and chemistry, etc.). He has authored and coauthored more than 140 peer reviewed papers and has a H-index 29 and i10-index 85.
