About Junaid Ul Islam

As a Research Scholar at IIT Kharagpur's High Voltage Engineering (HVE) Lab, my primary focus is on developing transformer diagnostics using frequency response analysis (FRA). My goal is to pioneer a novel method for assessing transformer health through FRA, driven by a passion for advancing diagnostic capabilities in electrical engineering. Frequency response analysis (FRA) is central to my research, involving subjecting transformers to varying electrical frequencies and analyzing responses to detect defects or abnormalities. Through meticulous experimentation and data analysis, I aim to develop robust diagnostic tools that can accurately assess transformer health. In addition to my academic pursuits, I actively engage with industry practices as a Junior Engineer in the EM & R (Electrical Maintenance & Repair) Division at NIT Srinagar. At NIT Srinagar, I am responsible for ensuring reliable electrical services by implementing preventive maintenance measures and optimizing system performance. I collaborate with diverse professionals to uphold stringent safety standards and industry best practices, contributing to seamless operations supporting academic and administrative activities. My professional journey is driven by a purpose—to contribute meaningfully to society.
